My my, I think I spy With my merry little eye Ho-ho, way down below Something shiny in the snow Isildur's Bane, another name to be admired Another storm, what's more, the Scourging of the Shire Another day, another way to say I'll never ever tire My precious, you're the wish that I desire Won't you come and spend your Christmas by the fire? So the season's growing near And I'm just trying to spread some cheer A little joy, a little mirth Death to all in Middle-Earth I'd send a sleigh, if you would say where you've retired Sing you songs with all the demon-elven choirs Build a winter wonderland among this muck and all this mire You're the Christmas wish that desire Won't you come and spend your Christmas by the fire? See you, I see you (x2) I can't tell you where I would not go Won't you come and find me 'neath the mistletoe? Now it's almost Christmas Eve And I'm a child who still believes This year, you'll come to see A part of me is you is me I'd send a sleigh, if you would say where you've retired Sing you songs with all the demon-elven choirs Build a winter wonderland among this muck and all this mire You're the Christmas wish that desire Won't you come and spend your Christmas by the fire? See you, I see you (x2) Please allow me to explain, dear Why I sent the Nine, not reindeer Ghosts of you and me still linger Ever since I lost that finger Christmastime will soon be knocking on the Gates of Black I would take an empty stocking Just to have you back See you, I see you (x 2) No, I can't tell you where I would not go So come and find me 'neath the mistletoe My precious, you're the wish that I desire So, come and spend your Christmas by the fire

And so it’s the Third Age And what have we done? Fought a great battle Can’t saw what we won But I’m walkin’ to save you And for courage to say If we ever rid ourselves of the Ring And the sting Of this nosey Eye Rosie, I Would like to take your hand on Christmas Day And so it’s the Third Age For Hobbit and Man As for the Wood Elves They’re leaving this land And as for our Company They’ve all drifted away If we ever make it through Past the gloom To Mount Doom I’ll do anything Lose this precious Ring Just to see the Elves on Christmas Day War ain’t over We don’t want it War ain’t over now War ain’t over We don’t want this War ain’t over now And so it’s the Third Age And Christmas again It’s time to go home now Via Bag End Just one tiny mountain Then we’ll be on our way Yeah we’ve nearly made it through Here we loom On Mount Doom So let’s do this thing Lose that silly Ring So we’re back where we belong on Christmas Day At the Dragon, singin’ songs on Christmas Day And so it’s the Third Age And Christmas back home Memory’s hazy Of where we used to roam No, I can’t remember Fields of barley or hay No, I can’t recall the lark Shadow’s growin’ dark On this stark empty mountainside Well, at least we tried And I don’t think I’ll see Elves on Christmas Day No, I don’t think we’ll see Elves on Christmas Day War ain’t over We don’t want it War ain’t over now War ain’t over We don’t want this War ain’t over now And so it’s the Third Age Christmas, my friend It’s come without ribbons Here at the end But I’m walkin’ to save you And for courage to say If you truly feel the burden you bear Can’t be shared Isn’t meant for two I will carry you Just to see you safe on Christmas Day Just to see you smile on Christmas Day War ain’t over We don’t want it War ain’t over now / Oh, It’s Christmas in the Shire War ain’t over / Just to see you smile on Christmas We don’t want this War ain’t over now Just to see you smile on Christmas Day
